The report shows that Pfizer’s stock price dropped by 1.2 percent on Friday, falling to $32.82, or $13.16 a share. This, according to the report, is part of a broader trend in which drug companies have increasingly priced their products in lower-priced categories.
According to the report, Viagra was introduced by Pfizer in 1998 and was the world’s second-biggest selling drug, marking a rise of more than 20 percent in sales over the previous two years.
Pfizer’s Viagra has a strong sales-related reputation, with sales of $4.1 billion in 1999. In the United States, Viagra’s annual sales rose by 11 percent.
In the United Kingdom, Viagra sales climbed by 6 percent to $2.5 billion, and the European version was released in September. According to the report, Pfizer’s Viagra accounted for 14 percent of the total global market for its drug.
Other factors suggest Pfizer’s Viagra is well-posed, including the growing number of women suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, a rise in demand for cheaper generic versions of Viagra, and a number of companies’ dependence on generics.
According to the report, Viagra is also being marketed in North America, but this time around, the price has risen from $2.40 to $2.75.
The report also noted that Viagra is still on patent and the price of the generic version will be slashed by half.
Meanwhile, Pfizer, which has been making money selling the erectile dysfunction drug since it launched in 1998, has had to increase prices in the past year to maintain its patent in the market.
As it stands, the company is looking for ways to maintain the low-priced brand Viagra, but with generic versions in the market, the company is not yet able to do this.
Pfizer’s shares were up by 1.5 percent on Friday after the company announced it would stop selling its erectile dysfunction drug, but the stock has fallen slightly since the launch of Viagra.
Pfizer said it was launching its own generic version of Viagra in the coming months. Pfizer also plans to launch a version of Viagra in the United States on January 4.
Meanwhile, Pfizer said it is working with local pharmacists to provide information about the product and possible changes in pricing, with an agreement between the companies in the United States and Pfizer.
Pfizer, in a statement, said: “We are pleased to work with local pharmacists and interested in partnering with pharmacies in the United States.”
